Reporting Analyst


Your challenge
As a financial reporting analyst, you will gather, analyze, consolidate and report Group financial and non-financial information based on global reporting requirements for internal and external stakeholders. This includes preparation of consolidated reports, automated validation checks aimed at ensuring reporting & data quality and perform data quality reviews on all team deliverables. Additionally you perform the activities compliant to the internal control framework.
As a financial reporting analyst, you support Country Units and Corporate Center colleagues on the use of global reporting tools. Also, you participate in the annual budget preparation process and you provide financial expert input to various strategic and regulatory driven finance projects.
Your team
The department Financial Reporting  is part of Group Finance. The primary objective of Group Finance is to provide the Executive Board, Management Board and Supervisory Board with meaningful financial information to support the board’s decision making process.
To help achieve this objective, Financial Reporting implements / maintains adequate reporting systems which enables group / consolidated reporting on key financial metrics based on Solvency II, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Aegon’s Market Value Numbers and on sensitivities.

This position is part of the Financial Development Program. The program is based on job rotation. Every two years you will switch to another business unit in The Hague: Aegon The Netherlands, Aegon Asset Management, Aegon Group and Aegon Bank. These rotations (3 times max.) facilitate your development as a broad professional. Besides these rotations we offer you everything to boost your development:

  • extended training program (a.o. communication -, project management -and leadership skills)
  • international assignments
  • individual coaching by program coordinators
  • possibility to obtain professional accreditation such as Registered Controller

The program is an excellent opportunity to build  a broad network with your peers and to interact with senior management. All of this prepares you for senior expert and management roles within Aegon.


Job Profile
As an reporting analystt you have a pragmatic attitude along with strong analytcal skills. You are a pro-active, flexible self-assured team worker with good communication skills. You are able to work within tight deadlines and feel comfortable in a changing environment.
Moreover, you have the following qualifications:

  • Academic degree in Accounting, Controlling, Business Administration, Economics or Financial Management;
  • 0-2 years work experience in an international financial environment (Solvency II is a plus);
  • Fluent in English, both in writing and verbally;
  • Strong affinity with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Experience with financial reporting solutions is a plus (i.e. internship).
